I received a (Name Omitted) newsletter today. He has some brilliant copy. There is no use for tinyurl/snipit. His link is very friendly and domestic. The keyword 'peek' is very powerful.

You just have to create a sub-directory using FTP and then insert a index.html redirect file in it.

With your permission, I will use it in the ezine. I know about redirects and use them on various web sites, but this was right in front of me and I did not see the application. I have already opened Front Page and created a folder “SBI-Affiliate” with the redirect in it for the next issue of Boomer eZine.

Definition of Site Build It

I have found that many people do not “get it” about Site Build It. I decided to attempt to write a definition of SBI. This led to an article that I published in Ezine Articles.com.

Writing a definition of Site Build It is a challenge since it is so many different things combined under one name. To define SBI, I prefer to step back away from the Internet and the technology and define it as a business model or business system. There are several definitions of system:

· a group of independent but interrelated elements comprising a unified whole.

· a procedure or process for obtaining an objective

· organization: an ordered manner; orderliness by virtue of being methodical and well organized.

· a group of elements, components, or devices that are assembled to serve a common purpose. In a technological system, this refers to all har dw are, software, networks, cables, peripheral equipment, information, data, personnel, and procedures (ie, all technology resources) that comprise a computer environment.

All of these apply to SBI. Too many people only associate SBI with web hosting. In their minds, SBI provides memory on a server, ban dw idth for access, and software to create and post web pages for access on the Internet. SBI is so much more than that. It is a system or method for creating successful businesses. It just happens that the Internet is the medium used to make these businesses successful.

Another definition of a system is a collection of people, processes, procedures, and equipment working in unison to achieve a goal. This definition also applies to SBI.

· The people are the owners of the SBI sites and the SBI staff working as one to maximize the results for the web site owner and make a profit for SBI.

· The processes are composed of the structured market research before a domain name can be selected, the structured brainstorming and development of keywords for the future website, the 10 day Action Guide in written or video format for developing the successful business, the monetization module for finding the best methods to generate income from traffic to the website, the SBI forums where SBI owners help and are helped. This structure makes SBI the ideal business model for an inexperienced person.

· The procedures are the rules for using the SBI hosting har dw are and software. SBI hosting is a controlled procedure. It does not allow server side applications and limits the types of files it will host. However, this structure allows SBI to monitor the activity of the search engine spiders, monitor search engine page rank, automatically update RSS feeds, automatically update site maps, and provides many more benefits to the SBI website owner.

· The equipment is composed of the personal computer of the SBI website owner and the equipment in the web hosting data center plus all the Internet communication equipment that connects the two and the rest of the world.

We have not been active on eBay for a while and we decided to double back to it for various reasons.

Linda is starting to sort out our house in anticipation of moving in less than two years. She is having fun putting things in a box and telling me to list them on eBay. She has done a great job taking pictures with the digital camera so all I have to do is list them.

Well, that is not all I have to do. I took the box to work where we have a very accurate scale. I weighed each item along with the packing material so I would know exactly how much the package will weigh for shipping.

I plan to list an item this weekend after we finish the ezine.

New Seller Account on eBay

We are concentrating more on being an SBI affiliate all the time since we feel that it is The Best Web Host for most people. I decided to create an account on eBay as SBI-Guru. I checked and it was available so that is the name of my new SBI selling account.

I also checked domain names and registered the following names:

Will I use all of these? No, www.sbi-guru.com is the main site, but the others are registered to protect the primary domain. If you click the other links, you will be automatically forwarded to www.sbi-guru.com.

I register my domains with a company in College Station , Texas named www.gkg.net. I know the owners personally, and they run a very good company.

GKG.net provides free domain parking with the registration. Redirects are included in the parking service. I set up the three defensive domain names to redirect to www.sbi-guru.com.

The main reason for establishing this account on eBay is to take advantage of the traffic that goes through eBay everyday. As I write this article, eBay is the number 19 in total traffic in the world. It used to be higher, but MySpace, YouTube, and other Web 2.0 sites have knocked it down a few slots. Just the same, #19 is a LOT OF TRAFFIC.

If you read Jim Cockrum ’s classic eBay book, “The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay”, you will know about the eBay “About Me” page. This is where eBay gives you the chance for a little creativity and is not as strict as on the actual auction pages.

Art said the word “peek” is a powerful word and he is right. It has a certain forbidden quality to it. Something we can do, but we shouldn’t.

Anyway, I have written before that probably the most powerful tool on SBI and the reason that SBI owners are so successful is the forum in which all SBI’ers help each other or go seeking help.
