This issue of Boomer eZine follows the theme from last issue of article marketing. If it is done correctly, it can attract traffic quickly to your website or blog. The article listing on Google can come within hours of publishing your article.
Linda and I will be on vacation the latter part of July and the early part of August so the August issue may be a little late. Vacations come first.

Q & A, Suggestions and Comments
Ana Young, a long time Boomer eZine reader, and I exchanged a couple of emails during June about article marketing.
Ana asked if she needed a website before she set up her Ezinearticles account and started publishing articles. My advice was to go ahead and set up your author account and start publishing. When you do build a website, you can go back and edit your resource boxes on each article to add the website URL. This will cause the articles to be reviewed again by Ezinearticles, but that does not take long.
The main thing is to get that first article published. The first one is the hardest. Get past that and the ones that follow will get easier and easier. Also, you must publish ten articles to get through the probationary period. Start now! If you have anything for this section or you have a suggestion for a topic for an article, please use this suggestion form to give us your suggestions or your input. If you haven’t tried Google Earth, you should download it and give it a test. It is absolutely amazing. Here is the starting view on Google Earth.
Panoramio is a Google website that allows you to upload pictures that you take and associate them with a geographic location. When you look at a close up view on Google Earth, you will see small blue squares in the picture. Click on a blue square, and a picture will be displayed from Panoramio that was taken from that spot. This allows you to see what is at that location as though you were standing there. I have used Google Earth for some time, but last week I received notice from Google that a new version was available so I downloaded it and played with it. Linda and I are going on vacation to the Pacific Northwest the latter part of July and I wanted to check some of our locations. The B&B where we are staying advertises “ocean view”. I wanted to see how far we actually were from the ocean. I put the address into Google Earth and here is what I found.
We must be on a hill overlooking the ocean since we appear to be about two or three blocks from the water. We are planning to come back from Vancouver Island on the Nanaimo to Horseshoe Bay Ferry. I have a fond spot in my heart for Horseshoe Bay since that was where I caught my first King Salmon when I was age eight. I decided to take a look at Horseshoe Bay. It is a lot busier now than in 1952. You can see the marina and two ferries in their landings.
Clicking on one of the blue squares on the above picture gave me these views of Horseshoe Bay. It has been really hot in South Texas (100F) and Linda and I are ready to be in cool British Columbia, Canada.
Linda and I like to kayak on Lake Findley at Alice, TX. We especially like to paddle up the creek channel and watch the birds and wildlife. This view from Google Earth allows us to see the twists and turns of the channel.
You can look up your own home address on Google Earth and see what “home sweet home” looks like from directly overhead or you can look at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France (See below). All the blue squares are links to pictures posted on Panoramio so you can see what the person who took the picture saw.
Google Earth may be handy for you to check out a location or you might have fun just cruising over the earth and seeing what different locations look like. You can load Google Earth at http://earth.google.com The Pamarino website is http://www.panoramio.com Credit for all the pictures in this article – Google Earth or Panarimio. Article Marketing is an important part of my traffic generation to The-Best-GPS.com. During June, I had more traffic to this website than in any other month and this was in spite of doing something to upset Google so very little of the monthly traffic came from Google. At least not directly. When I say “not directly”, I mean that Google listed my articles from Ezinearticles.com. The viewer clicked on the Google search result and read the article. He/she then clicked on the resource box link and went to the landing page on The-Best-GPS.com. This also gave me my best sales month on Amazon selling GPS units and accessories. What upset Google is a mystery at this point. Some of my landing pages for the articles were similar in content so Google may have decided that the pages were duplicate content. Who knows? I will just have to work harder on the article marketing and try to figure out why Google pulled the website from its search. Let’s take a look at some of the results. Here is the traffic on The-Best-GPS.com from March 1 – July 1, 2009. You can see the traffic increased in the middle of May.
Here is a view of the “Recent Came From Activity” for July 3, 2009. Notice that most of these come from one of the articles on Ezinearticles.com. If you read the lines that start with "http://ezinearticles.com/? The article name and number will immediately follow (Example) 10-Top-GPS---How-to-Find-Them&id=2420993"
Here are the recent keyword searches. Notice the majority of these come from Bing and Yahoo. Only two in this picture come from Google Canada.
On June 26, I sent an email asking you the readers of Boomer eZine to participate in an experiment on traffic generation. I requested that you read three of my articles and either comment on the articles, or vote on them. For those who participated, thank you very much. I promised to share the results of the experiment. If you did not previously read the articles, I would appreciate your reading them now. Just click on the links below to view them. Thanks in advance for your support. “Best Car GPS” had 243 views on 6/26. Your help put it on the Ezinearticles.com top 15 viewed articles for the category "Communications/GPS" where is it now number 13 with 317 views. This catapulted the article on its way since many people use this list as a reference resource. Being on the list attracts traffic to the article. Article - The-Best-GPS-For-the-Money “Running GPS - How to Find the Best One” had 190 views on 6/26. It now has 236 views and will probably break into the top 15. Article - 10-Top-GPS---How-to-Find-Them “Garmin Nuvi 760 GPS - Discontinued But Still a Great Buy” had 175 views. It now has 244 and will probably also break into the top 15. Article - Best-Car-GPS---How-to-Find-It Here is a picture of my Ezinearticles.com Article Report as of July 3. This tells me the number of views and the number of clicks my links in the resource box have received. The numbers in red show the article views when I sent you the email on 6/26.
Currently, I am fortunate to have three articles in the top 15 on Ezineartices.com for Communications/GPS. These are driving significant traffic to my website.
What to take away from this article. If you research and choose the right keywords where you can favorably compete on Google, article marketing can drive substantial quality traffic to your website.
How to Publish on Ezinearticles.com I have written several articles about Ezinearticles.com, but there is always room for one more. I have posted a Word template that I use for writing my articles so you can download it if you want. It is very simple, but it reminds me to create each of the inputs that are necessary to publish an article since there is more to it than just writing the body of the article. You can download the template and save it for writing articles. Remember, it is simple so don’t expect it to write the article for you. This will bring up the sign up page. You can complete this information and you will be a member of Ezinearticles.com. Click the link on the right side of the page and watch the video to learn how to sign up and how to write your first article.
To make certain that your article is ranked high on Google refer to the previous issue of Boomer eZine at V4I3_060109 and review how to perform the keyword research to determine what keywords your should use for your article. If your keyword is too popular, it is difficult to rank high on Google. If there is not much search traffic, it may not be worth writing the article since the return may not be there.
